OFRENDA DEL MAR
2026
Mixed media on canvas.
Gold leaf, charcoal and oil paint.
110 x 70cm.
Offering of the Sea presents the traditional craft of the pulpeiro as an iconic expression of a deeply rooted cultural heritage in Galicia, Spain.
The act of cutting becomes, in the artist’s language, an act of transmission: from the dark, powerful waters of the Galician coast to the copper pot, knowledge passes through the hands of those who work with dedication and preserve the gestures through which tradition endures. It is an act of service — of giving and sharing — rooted in the humility of human experience.
The scene unfolds within an undefined space. The hands, devoted to their craft, belong not to the public square but to an inner territory: a space shaped by will, memory and being.
The artist does not narrate; he evokes.
